I chose the materials and processes in the print to act as metaphors. Screen printing and the intaglio process were used to address and delineate the differences between a cartographic depiction and a depiction of the sensory and emotional experience of moving across the land. Screen Printing ink piles up on the surface of the paper and seems to hover. It is an overlay on the paper, a projection, while the etching line is pressed in and slightly reshapes the substrate. The paper itself is a broad open space, a personal landscape uncharted.
