Based on my family’s move from Rhode Island to Kansas, Leftward charts a subjective and objective experience. The states we drove through are screen printed, while my perception of the route we took is manifested as an etching. The etched line was drawn from memory after we arrived and is composed of a stream of consciousness diary of the journey. Each word is written normally but I have arranged the sentences so it reads from left to right.
